DARPA ErisTech completed a Phase I SBIR contract with DARPA on the topic "Lightweight Solar-Regenerative Energy Sources" for surveillance airships. Partnered with Sandia National Labs in Albuquerque , NM , and Lockheed Martin's High Altitude Airship program in Akron , OH , we were able to perform a feasilibility analysis on using nanotstructured components to build a solar hydrogen fuel cell which surpassed DARPA's energy requirements by a magnitude. Unfortunately the Sandia material is not mature enough to provide a solution within the next 2 years. We still keep in close contact with DARPA in hopes of applying the technology in another area.
Lockheed Martin Lockheed Martin is our biggest strategic partner. Other than the FCS contract, we are exploring follow-on work and actively looking at providing solutions to other departments and divisions within Lockheed. We are also initiating a mentor/protégé relationship and they are processing our security paperwork.
SPAWAR Systems Center - San Diego After looking through their patent database, met with Stephen Lieberman to discuss the use of one of their patents in our SBIR Phase I proposal and they were able to provide a letter of support. During the meeting also discussed the possibility of becoming a technology partner. Since ErisTech is a small company, it does not have the resources to spend years developing a mature technology, whereas SSC-SD has technology sitting idle looking for new applications. It was agreed that an agile small company like ErisTech could help identify potential applications and funding sources for SSC-SD and form a mutually beneficial relationship.
